William Whitehouse

Director | Rights to Light
London

As a Director at Anstey Horne, I have over 10 years’ experience specialising in Rights of Light, Daylight & Sunlight and Solar PV surveying. I combine technical expertise with a strong legal foundation, enabling me to navigate the complex relationship between property law, planning and surveying principles across the built environment. After graduating from Exeter University in 2014 with a degree in International Relations and Spanish, I completed legal training in the form of the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (GDL).

My experience encompasses advising developers, property owners and other stakeholders on complex and high-value projects, with a particular focus on identifying and managing the risks associated with development and natural light. I take a commercially focused approach to each instruction, turning complex technical and legal considerations into clear, practical advice that supports informed decision-making and helps unlock development potential.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and making the most of the Cornish countryside. I can often be found attempting to surf or exploring the surrounding coast and countryside for search of a good pub.
