Lancaster Street, Birmingham B4
We provided Daylight & Sunlight advice on this 40m x 40m site which is earmarked for a new student accommodation scheme to sit amongst several tall buildings in Birmingham city centre.
Standing at 24 storeys, on the corner of Lancaster Street and Lawson Street, near the ‘Learning Quarter’ of Eastside, this development will provide a total of 556 student bedrooms, comprising a total of 115 studios and 441 multi-bed apartments.
This south-west facing scheme is 23 floors in height and houses 549 students in a mix of unit types ranging from studios to nine-room clusters.
Services: We were appointed to provide daylight and sunlight services for this scheme.
Our CAD team prepared a 3D model for technical analysis for planning submission. We produced impact results to the neighbouring properties and prepared overshadowing images.
We also assessed light within the proposed accommodation and reported these for submission as part of the planning application which was successful.
