The redevelopment is being led by Stevenage First, a partnership formed by Stevenage Borough Council, Local Enterprise Partnership, Herts County Council and the Chamber of Commerce.

Stevenage First have partnered with Mace, the firm that built the Shard, to bring in £350m of private investment into the town to deliver the SG1 scheme, a development formed of a series of units that will introduce new residential, retail and leisure opportunities – along with a combined public services hub – to the town centre.

Daylight Sunlight Stevenage Town

The approved hybrid application comprises approximately 140,000 sqm of new mixed-use development including ground floor retail and commercial space to attract an improved café and restaurant offer to the town; a diverse array of new public open space; a new 9,500 sqm public services hub; a primary school and 1,864 new homes.

With the support of our Daylight & Sunlight work planning permission for the regeneration of Stevenage Town Centre was successfully secured in January 2021.
