Anstey Horne provided Party Wall advice for the British Museum’s development of a new World Conservation and Exhibition Centre. The development has won the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Best Building award in the Tourism & Leisure category.
The development is one of the largest in the British Museum’s 260 year history. The new nine storey building in the north west corner of the site consists of five pavilions, one of which is entirely underground.
The new building provides the Museum with a new exhibition centre, laboratories and studios. It also provides world class storage for its collections and facilities to support the extensive UK and international loan programme.
We provided advice on all aspects of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 for the redevelopment, which is surrounded by seven listed buildings for which the Museum is freeholder
